The US investment fund has bought the logistics platforms of the Uvesco group in Irún (Guipúzcoa) and Los Corrales de Buelma and Sámano (Cantabria), according to El Confidencial.
The transaction is a sale&leaseback operation whereby Uvesco will remain as tenant with a lease contract for the next twenty years, a usual formula in this type of sale and leaseback.
The logistics platforms total 68,300 square metres, of which 31,900 square metres correspond to the warehouses located in the Basque Country, 21,000 square metres to the Sámano platform and the remaining 15,400 square metres to the Los Corrales de Buelma platform.
The warehouses supply Uvesco's BM and SuperAmara supermarkets in Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarre and La Rioja. The warehouses are prepared to store both fresh and dry products. The Sámano platform also serves the group's supermarkets in Madrid.
