Some 20 distribution companies which collaborate with Amazon are also expected to employ hundreds of drivers to deliver the parcels to clients in the region. The three new logistic stations will be located in Madrid, Móstoles and Coslada, and are expected to be operational within the next four months.
The logistic stations will boost Amazon’s last mile deliveries and help improve the delivery experience. The parcels are sent from nearby logistic centres to these stations and from there, distribution companies load them into their vehicles and deliver them to customers.
Paolo Patrone, director of Amazon Logistics in Spain, stated that «we are excited about continuing to invest in the Community of Madrid with new logistic stations, which will provide an efficient delivery service to our customers and create hundreds of job opportunities».
With these new stations, the e-commerce giant will have a total of 13 facilities in the Community of Madrid.
