Investment in hotels continues to boost the ‘Baixa’ of Porto

Investment in the creation of new hotel units continues to boost the market in the Baixa (downtown area) of Porto, with 11 requests for the creation of new hotels in the city at present under consideration.

These data were presented by Porto Vivo – Sociedade de Reabilitação Urbana da Baixa Portuense (SRU), a public entity which, in the past two years, has given the ‘green light’ to nine hotels, as revealed by its President, Álvaro Santos.

It can be noted that, in the last few years, the city of Porto has registered an exponential increase in tourism, which has strongly propelled investment in the expansion of accommodation on offer in the city
