Housing prices up 7.7% from last year in the first quarter

House prices, calculated according to the “Índice de Precio de la Vivienda de Ventas Repetidas” (following Case & Shiller methodology applied in Spain), the trend during the recent quarters has amplified in the first quarter of 2017, with an annual increase of 7.7%, 4.1% more than the previous quarter

According to the  “Estadística Inmobiliaria del Colegio de Registradores”  corresponding to the first quarter, between January and March there were13,738 entries in the property registers for house sales and purchases, the highest quarterly result since the first quarter of 2011. 

With respect to the previous quarter, the increase stood at 21.8%. Annually, this positive trend has continued: compared to the first quarter of 2016, there has been an increase of 14.4%.
