Zenial Hotels S.L. is set to develop a new four-star hotel in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera, in the province of Cádiz, following approval from the city’s Local Historic Heritage Commission.
The hotel will occupy Calle Larga 18 and comprise 51 rooms and 102 hotel beds. The project involves the partial rehabilitation of an existing building, with the façade to be preserved in accordance with its architectural conservation status.
The property is classified as residential and is included in the catalogue of Jerez’s Historic Complex. It dates predominantly from the 20th century and is subject to Level IV archaeological protection.
The development will not encompass the entire building. Two commercial premises on the ground floor, each with independent access from Calle Larga, will remain outside the hotel and retain their separate commercial use.
The hotel’s main entrance will be located on Calle Larga, with the ground floor configured as the arrival and communal area, including reception, shared spaces and a restaurant.
Guest bedrooms will occupy the upper floors, while the basement will house facilities reserved exclusively for hotel guests. These will include a spa, gym, television room and leisure area.
Agustín Muñoz, Jerez’s first deputy mayor and delegate for the Historic Centre, described the project as “good news for the whole city”, highlighting its contribution to expanding the local hotel offer and reinforcing Jerez’s position as a quality tourism destination capable of attracting investment.
According to Agustín Muñoz, the rehabilitation of historic buildings is also helping to generate wealth and employment while supporting the wider regeneration of Jerez’s historic centre.
The hotel approval forms part of a wider programme of interventions authorised by the Heritage Commission aimed at regenerating the city centre. In total, 28 new interventions were reported at the latest meeting, involving public administrations, companies and private owners.
