The Hotel Galeón, situated in Puerto de Pollença, has been acquired by Toni Nadal, uncle of the Majorcan tennis player Rafa Nadal. The operation with the Cusí family was formalised last November, although the agreement dates back to the summer, according to Som Pollença.
It is an aparthotel formed by 14 units, which in the last eleven years had been exploited by the hotelier Jaume Salas, president of the hotel association of Pollença. The new owner, together with a group of architects and a consultant, will subject the property to a thorough renovation with the aim of converting it into an emblematic establishment.
"It is a representative space of Eu Moll and we believe that this new refurbishment will be very good and appropriate for the tourism sector in Pollença", said Jaume Salas. He also stressed that all the members of the association are happy about this sale, as the last refurbishment of the hotel was carried out in 1999.
The Hotel Galeón dates back to 1961, and was built on the initiative of Joan Seguí. It is located in front of the beach of Port De Pollença, five minutes by car from the centre of Port De Pollença and 5/8 kilometres from the city of Palma.
