Simplifika Capital has completed the refurbishment of a former office building at 18 Calle Maestro Alonso, in Madrid’s Salamanca district, transforming it into a flexible accommodation complex set to open in the coming days.

The property, known as MA18, has 1,166 sqm spread over five floors and will house studios designed for short- and medium-term stays. It will be managed by Limehome, which operates digitalised accommodation and automates processes such as guest check-in and access.

The project has been conceived as a repositioning scheme for an obsolete and underutilised property, retaining the existing structure rather than demolishing it and replacing it with a new build. The works have enabled the building to be adapted for use in the hospitality sector and have incorporated improvements in design, energy efficiency and technical performance.

The project forms part of Simplifika’s value-add strategy, which focuses on acquiring, refurbishing and repositioning existing properties to change their use or increase their income-generating potential.

MA18 is aimed at both business and leisure travellers, particularly for medium-term stays. According to the developer, the refurbishment of the property will bring a disused building back into use and generate demand for the local shops, restaurants and services.
