Qatari funds, represented by the Spanish businessman Sergio García, are in negotiations with the British investor Nadhmi Auchi for the purchase of the Hotel Miguel Ángel in Madrid, as reported by El Confidencial. The operation is in the internal audit phase with an offer from the Spanish businessman of 200 million euros.
The property has 267 rooms and is located at number 31 Miguel Ángel Street, in the Chamberí district of Madrid. According to the newspaper's sources, the plans of the Qatari-based funds are to turn the hotel into a benchmark for luxury tourism in the Spanish capital.
Already in May 2022, Bain Capital and Stoneweg negotiated the purchase of the five-star establishment for a transaction that could also have reached 200 million euros. The two companies were looking to refurbish the hotel in depth and bring in a new operator.
