PortAventura World has purchased the Pirámide Salou hotel, a 4-star hotel located in Tarragona on the 'Costa Dorada', and whose operation is part of the new line of business it is implementing by starting to manage a hotel outside the physical boundaries of the resort.
According to Expansión, the transaction has been closed for 18 million euros and the company reported that it plans to invest 4 million euros to bring it up to its standards.
The resort, which was managed by MedPlaya, is a 230-room 4-star resort with an outdoor pool, restaurant and bar. The hotel is located 4 kilometres from the Port Aventura theme park.
In May this year PortAventura World bought the Hotel Atenea Aventura, its first establishment outside the resort. In this way, the company began to manage and administer for the first time the operation of an accommodation outside the current perimeter of the resort, thus entering a new business model.
