Palácio Ford, a former 32.000 sqm industrial complex in Porto, will be converted into a new project which will include a luxury hotel, tourism and affordable accommodation and several public areas, as reported by Público, quoted by idealista/news. The expected construction area for this new project is 52.000 sqm.
This palace was built in the XX century and has been abandoned for more than 30 years – there are only a few warehouses left standing in the terrain – and new buildings will be constructed within this industrial complex. This Wednesday, June 13, the owner of the terrain, IME (Imóveis Empreendimentos Hoteleiros) began a call for a public tender to develop the architectural project.
The call will be open until October 14 and all applications will be anonymous – the winning bid will be awarded 30.000 euro and 20.000 euro will be distributed amongst the remaining applicants.
