The former home of the Portuguese Football Federation will be transformed into a digital hotel, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2024. Numa, a German digital hotel chain, has acquired the building that will be converted into a hotel with 77 rooms and 154 beds.
According to Negócios, the purchase and conversion of the building next to Rato in Lisbon marks the group's entry into Portuguese territory, «Portugal is one of the most important European markets for the future, with great strategic importance», stated the German group in a statement, which did not reveal the value of the investments planned for Lisbon, as well as for Porto where it states that there are «central and interesting» properties.
The German digital hotel chain also pointed out that, through a partnership with asset manager LaSalle Investment Management, it plans to invest €500 million in Europe.
