Inmolevel Real Estate has acquired two adjoining buildings in central Alicante, formerly occupied by the Bar Guillermo restaurant, to develop a new 27-room hotel. The properties are located between Pintor Velázquez and Juan de Herrera streets, between the Central Market and the city’s bullring. The project will involve demolishing the existing buildings and constructing a new hotel, with opening provisionally expected towards the end of 2028, subject to the relevant licences.
The acquisition marks a further step in Inmolevel’s expansion in Alicante’s hospitality market. The family-owned company, linked to the Robles and Romo families, has recently opened another accommodation establishment on Calle Tucumán, close to the Provincial Palace. The company also owns a property on Calle Belando, where it is preparing a redevelopment project whose final use has yet to be determined.
Inmolevel intends to operate the new hotel directly rather than appoint an external hospitality operator. The project also involves Jorge Prados of asset management firm Baélia, who is participating as a local partner and management ally. Habitalia Alicante advised on and brokered the acquisition.
The development will replace a long-standing local business with a new hospitality use. Founded 70 years ago by Guillermo Maciá Durá, Bar Guillermo became a familiar establishment for generations of Alicante residents. Inmolevel is considering naming the hotel Hotel Guillermo as a tribute to the restaurant’s founder, although the final name remains to be agreed between his family, Inmolevel and Baélia.
The project combines the acquisition and redevelopment of a central urban site with direct hotel operations, as Inmolevel continues to assess further opportunities in Alicante’s city centre.
