Diglo has closed the transfer of the Hotel Bodega Real, located in El Puerto de Santa María, to an investment group that will recover the activity of the property and has invested just over two million euros in its acquisition.
The building, an old winery that was refurbished to adapt its use to hotel needs, is located in one of the main tourist enclaves of the province of Cadiz, El Puerto de Santa Maria, and enjoys a privileged location: in the historic centre of the town and only a 10-minute walk from the train station.
The Hotel Bodega Real, until now one of the main hotel assets in Diglo's portfolio under management, has a surface area of nearly 4,000 square metres divided into 52 rooms spread over two floors. The property has a valid business licence, although it has not been in operation since 2021.
"The transfer of the Hotel Bodega Real shows that it is a property with great potential that, by recovering its activity, will attract tourists back to the town of Puerto de Santa Maria, helping to boost the local economy," said Stephane Boggetto, commercial director of Real Estate Assets at Diglo Servicer.
Boosting tourism
Cadiz is one of the main national tourist destinations and, according to provisional data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) and analysed by the Cadiz Provincial Council, the figures for overnight stays and visitors show an upward trend.
Thus, the number of overnight stays reached 2.9 million during the first six months of the year, an increase of 138% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the total number of tourists visiting the province rose to 1.1 million, an increase of 206% compared to the figures for the first half of 2021.
