Catalonia Hotels & Resorts has bought two hotels in the Malaga municipality of Ronda. These are the Catalonia Reina Victoria and Catalonia Ronda, which were added to the chain's rental offer in 2012 and 2017, respectively.
The four-star Catalonia Reina Victoria hotel has 95 rooms, convention rooms, swimming pool, spa and gym. The company founded by the Vallet brothers undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the building prior to its opening.
The Catalonia Ronda hotel, also a four-star hotel, has 80 rooms, a swimming pool, spa and gymnasium.
Catalonia Hotels is a chain focused on the purchase of assets and more than 90% of its offer is made up of owned establishments. However, in recent years, the company has also strengthened its rental and management contracts.
Federico Holzmann, Global Head Real Estate of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, commented: "We have a solid track record and are one of the most profitable chains in the Spanish market. Our management model has demonstrated considerable cost reductions and has allowed us to export the brand's success to new establishments and destinations".
Catalonia Hotels currently has 74 hotels and resorts in 20 destinations worldwide. The company has a "strong presence" in Spain and is the leader in Barcelona with 26 establishments and more than 3,000 rooms. The holiday part is made up of nine resorts in the Caribbean (four in the Dominican Republic and five in Mexico) and hotels in the Balearic and Canary Islands.
