An emblematic building in Cais do Sodré is to be converted into a premium hostel belonging to the Spanish hostel and boutique hotel chain Room007. Hawk Real Estate Collective has brokered the sale of the block formed by three of Lisbon's most famous streets, "Rua Cor-de-Rosa", Rua do Alecrim and Rua de São Paulo, where the discotheques Jamaica and Europa used to be located.
Named Room007 Pink Lisboa, the new hostel comprises 80 rooms distributed over the six floors of the building. It is estimated that the new hotel unit will create around 25 new jobs. The new hostel is the most recent investment of the Spanish chair in Portugal, which already owns two units opened in Lisbon, under the brands Bluesock Lisboa and Room007 Select Liberdade, both in Avenida da Liberdade.
"We bet on Hawk exactly because it is a local agency with extensive knowledge of the Portuguese market and composed of competent and experienced professionals who have skills in different areas, enabling careful and rigorous monitoring of the entire process, from consultation to closing the deal," says Ignacio Requena, CEO of Room007.
For Miguel Freitas, CEO of Hawk, "this is undoubtedly an emblematic asset that occupies a prominent place in the city of Lisbon. It is a building that was "forgotten" in this area, which as we know has been benefiting from a quality requalification, which is why we are very proud to be part of the future of this building full of charisma and that will soon have a new story to tell. Another reason that brings us great satisfaction is the fact that the main mediators have been working on this asset, and it was Hawk who successfully completed the deal. This is evidence of our high level of commitment and preparation for this type of transaction".
Room007 also foresees the opening of four more units in Lisbon and Porto, still under construction.
