Atom, the socimi of Bankinter and GMA for the hotel segment, has acquired the Senator hotel in Barcelona for 25.5 million euros.
The asset, located at number 11 Cardenal Reig street, in the district of Les Corts, very close to the Camp Nou, has a four-star category and has 213 rooms, a spa center, a gym and a rooftop pool, among other services.
Bankinter's hotel socimi has completed the operation through the purchase of the company's shares in the Barcelona Hotel Management Company, formerly called Sihabe Inversiones 2013, 100% owned by the Caixabank Group.
Said purchase has been executed through a loan amounting to 15.3 million euros "signed simultaneously with the acquisition of the asset, for a term of 15 years and a fixed interest rate for the first seven years of 2.1%, with mortgage guarantee", the company has communicated to BME Growth.
With this acquisition, Atom adds its third asset in Catalonia, where it already has the Autograph Collection Baqueira and Ibersol Antemare, and increases its portfolio of assets to 29 urban and vacation hotels, operated under rental contracts by up to 13 hotel chains. In total, the socimi has nearly 7,000 rooms, with more than 500,000 m2 leased and an asset value of more than 700 million euros, according to the valuation report carried out by Savills Aguirre Newman.
Bankinter is the company's main shareholder, with a 6.9% stake, while GMA remains second, with 3.74% of the capital.
