Arnaiz has completed Ribera Suites in Madrid, a tourist apartment building developed for the Eric Vökel brand, situated beside the River Manzanares. For this project, the firm was responsible for the architectural design, construction supervision and project management, building on a partnership with the hotel operator that has been in place since 2010.
The property comprises 12 apartments spread over a gross floor area of 1,050 sqm and is geared towards short- and medium-term stays. The complex features access control, a hybrid reception and maintenance services, in line with the urban accommodation model that characterises the brand.
With the handover of Ribera Suites, Arnaiz has now completed nine projects for Eric Vökel across various European cities. Three of these are in Madrid – Madrid Suites, Atocha Suites and the recently completed Ribera Suites – while the rest are spread across Amsterdam, Hamburg and Copenhagen. Furthermore, the firm is currently providing technical assistance on two new developments being undertaken by the chain in Vienna and Amsterdam.
Their joint track record has been characterised primarily by the refurbishment and conversion of buildings for use as hotels and flexible-stay accommodation, a segment that has gained prominence in major European urban markets.
Beyond this collaboration, Arnaiz has been involved in other hotel projects in Madrid, including the Hotel Líbere Madrid Chamberí, with 48 apartments, as well as the current Four Points Flex by Sheraton Atocha, formerly EasyHotel Atocha, where it took on the role of construction manager. It is also advising on the development of the 148-room Ibis Madrid Norte Las Tablas.
At the same time, the firm is working on a 275-unit complex in Boadilla del Monte, developed by Twin Peaks, where it will be responsible for both the design of the projects and the overall management of the construction works.
