The "most daring real estate event" comes to Ibiza next May 29th. SQUARE, the company responsible for the initiative, led by its CEO and founder José María Pons, is organizing a new edition of its well-known annual event. This year, the firm plans to offer an environment in which critical issues that are influencing the global real estate industry will be analyzed in an innovative way. Thus, the conference will address complications arising from geopolitical conflicts such as the situations in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as the challenges imposed by ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulations.
The first day of SQUARE Ibiza 2024 will focus on discussing the possible political and economic consequences of the conflicts in the Middle East, including the war between Israel and Hamas and the situation with Iran. It is not only about the war between Israel and Hamas, but also, and especially, the underlying issue of Iran, not to mention the Houthis causing problems in the Red Sea," the organization notes. This discussion will be particularly relevant in view of the upcoming elections in the European Union, the United States and Germany.
In addition, an Oxford-style debate will be held on the impact of ESG on the real estate industry, focusing on how environmental regulations are reshaping the sector. This discussion format will allow experts with opposing views to dialogue about the benefits and challenges of ESG.
The second day of SQUARE will begin with a provocative speech on artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on real estate. The conference will also include sessions on creating the real estate company of the future, exploring new technologies and adaptive market strategies. A highlight will be a panel discussion between a designer, a developer and an investor, who will share their experiences on how they have adapted their businesses to the rapidly changing market. In addition, it will address how AI could transform data centers and energy infrastructures into highly valuable assets.
The event will close with an interactive exercise where participants will be able to formulate strategies for the coming years, followed by a session where investors will share their investment strategies, marking a practical end to the meeting.
In this way, "SQUARE 2024 aims to give attendees bold and non-mainstream ideas on how to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world full of uncertainties generated in large part by wars, ESG and AI," the organization concluded.
