Banco Santander has withdrawn from Aliseda the management of its assets. The entity led by Ana Botín has made this decision to manage it within the bank, integrating it within its business scheme.
The Quasar servicer, a company owned by Blackstone and Banco Santander, will maintain the management of the portfolio of the same name, which brings together the toxic assets of the defunct Banco Popular. This new corporate movement will not influence this portfolio. Currently, this contract represents 85% of Aliseda's business and assets worth 30,000 million euros.
According to sources from the servicer, there have been no changes in the shareholding of Aliseda, nor in the management of the Quasar portfolio. "Both shareholders are perfectly aligned," they point out. Following Santander's decision, the 130 Aliseda employees who manage the bank's portfolio will become part of the financial holding company. It also involves the transfer of 15% of the assets managed by the servicer.
