Saint Croix HI, Pryconsa's socimi, enters the healthcare sector by promoting a turnkey hospital for Sanitas in the Valdebebas neighborhood of Madrid.
The new health facilities will have 30,000 m2, a hundred individual rooms, 22 dedicated to the mental health unit, 65 consulting rooms, eight state-of-the-art operating rooms (including the robotic surgery program and interventional radiology), 15 ICU beds (nine for adults and six for children), 16 emergency boxes and a dental center.
The center will initially have 293 underground parking spaces to minimize the environmental impact of vehicles.
The hospital, Sanitas' fifth, will also be home to Sanitas' research and training units for medical professionals, and will have three reference units: an Advanced Oncology Institute, which will have the latest radiotherapy technology; a service for mental health care; and an advanced rehabilitation center for comprehensive treatment and recovery.
It will be a sustainable building, low in emissions, and that will consume 100% renewable electricity, "in order to take care of the planet's health, directly linked to people's health," they explain from the health company.
The construction itself will be approached with sustainability criteria to guarantee that the impact of the works is the least for the environment, both during the construction and during the rest of the life of the hospital.
Works are scheduled to begin in January 2023, to be completed in 2025.
"This development will provide the Valdebebas neighborhood with a new first-class infrastructure", declared Marco Colomer, president of Pryconsa.
Less than a month ago, the socimi announced the development of a hotel with 273 rooms, also turnkey, for the Meliá chain on the site next to the one used for the hospital. This complex, next to the Barajas airport, will finish the works before the sanitary installations.
