Residential tourism and affordable housing mark the start of SIMED 20th edition
FYCMA, Malaga

SIMED, the Mediterranean Real Estate Exhibition, opens its doors on 7 November, consolidating its position as a high-level professional event and establishing itself as a key event in the residential sector specialising in real estate investment. The event, which runs until 9 November at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA), is recognised for its importance in the real estate sector in southern Europe, and this edition is expected to attract more than 8,000 participants, including investors, developers, promoters and leading experts.

Celebrating 20 years of existence, the event presents a wide range of new and pre-owned homes, accompanied by a professional programme with more than 30 thematic panels and the participation of more than 120 experts. The main themes include public-private partnerships, new formats in the living sector, real estate investment and innovation in sustainable construction.

Opportunities and trends in residential tourism

On the first day of the event, the Forum on Opportunities and Trends in Residential Tourism, co-organised by Iberian Property, will be one of the highlights of Simed 2024. Moderated by Arturo Malingre, partner at Iberinmo Group, this opening day forum will focus on best practices and strategies for investing in new residential formats, showcasing both current trends and future projections. The round table will feature leading figures from the sector.

Susana Rodríguez, Commercial Director and Managing Director at Savills, heading up the Living division, will provide information on the development of innovative residential projects and the evolution of market demands. Sergio Arana, Director of Real Estate at Urbanitae for Spain and Portugal, will address how collective investment is democratising access to the real estate market and enabling large-scale projects. Jeffrey Sujar Blanco, Managing Partner of Urbania at Inversiones Alternativas, will delve into financing strategies and investment management in emerging residential formats. Leticia Pérez, CEO of Dazia Capital, will share her experience in developing and managing high-impact residential projects, exploring expansion opportunities and operational challenges. Isidoro Mínguez, director at Orion Capital Managers and chairman of the board at Sotogrande, will contribute his expertise in luxury residential tourism projects and the management of high-value assets.

The forum will emphasise how new trends, such as build to rent, coliving and sustainable developments, are reshaping the residential market. It will also analyse success stories and discuss strategies for navigating the challenges facing the sector, providing attendees with tools to identify emerging opportunities and make informed investment decisions.

Simed 2024 has more than 200 companies and organisations represented, 130 of which are taking part in the exhibition area. More than 9,000 properties located in 63 municipalities will be on offer here, covering the province of Malaga and other areas of Andalusia and the rest of Spain. The main locations with real estate on offer include Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, as well as Valencia, the Canary Islands, Madrid and Catalonia.

The offer also includes international properties located in destinations such as Cancun (Mexico), as well as development plots for those looking for land investment opportunities. This year, new commercial launches by renowned developers such as Aedas Homes, Ansan, Gilmar Real Estate, Landco, Culmia and Neinor Homes will stand out.

With its 20th edition, Simed reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability and collaboration in the real estate sector, consolidating itself as a meeting place for industry leaders, developers and professionals seeking a more accessible and transformative residential and urban future.
