The Spanish company specialising in real estate assets in the healthcare sector continues betting in Portugal with the purchase of two new hospitals, according to PlantaDoce.
The Spanish socimi has purchased two hospitals owned by FSG Saúde - Fundo de Investimento Imobiliário Fechado, operated by Luz Saúde under a long-term lease.
With the purchase of these two hospitals, the platform will be equipped with two assets that together offer 48 specialties, have 100 consulting rooms, 140 beds, totalling more than 37,500 square metres. The Spanish company will finance both acquisitions with the capital increases it has recently carried out and with debt.
These operations are not the first in Portugal for Healthcare Activos. At the end of 2020, the socimi signed the purchase of a hospital in the Portuguese city of Vila Real, through its investment vehicle Healthcare Activos Investment. The transaction was valued at 25 million euros. The Portuguese complex is, specifically, the Trofa Sáude Vila Real Hospital, which opened in October 2018 and is equipped with more than fifty beds, more than eighty consulting rooms and three operating theatres in its nearly 23,000 square metres of floor space.
