It is yet another real estate investment deal in the health/healthcare area. The real estate fund manager specialized in health Lifento announced this week the completion of the acquisition of the Hospital Particular de Almada building, on behalf of the open-end investment fund Lifento Care Paneuropean. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The information is advanced by the HPA in a statement, which confirms the deal. According to Lifento, «taking into account the strong population growth in the territory, linked to the development of Greater Lisbon, Lifento and the HPA launched a major development program through the renovation of current assets and the construction of an extension that will allow the establishment cover an area of 12 thousand square meters, doubling the current area», quotes Negócios.
«This development will allow the HPA to assert itself as a 'player' of reference in the health care offer in Lisbon, with the implementation of new care units currently unavailable in the territory, as well as the development of centers of excellence in the specialties of surgery obstetrics", can also be read in the statement.
This deal follows the acquisition of HPA in the summer of 2021 by private equity Atena Equity Partners and by 3T Portugal from the Jcolgest group.
It should be remembered that, in 2021, for the first time, investment businesses in the health area reached 12% of the total invested in commercial real estate in Portugal, according to CBRE, a sector that increasingly attracts the attention of investors.
