Altice is negotiating the sale of its data centre in Covilhã for 100 million euros. The telecommunications company expects to conclude the deal by the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year, according to information advanced by Jornal Económico newspaper.
Altice has invested nearly 4 million to migrate the entire infrastructure supporting the Sapo portal to what is the largest data centre of the telecommunications company and also one of the largest in Portugal. The Horizon Equity Partners fund is in the lead to buy the asset, reports Bloomberg.
In 2022, Bloomberg advanced that Altice was evaluating a possible sale of the data centre, pointing out that "the divestment of the Covilhã operation" would give the company around 200 million euros.
It should be noted that this sale of the asset follows Altice's international goal of reducing the group's overall debt, which exceeded 30 billion euros at the end of last year.
