Nuno Torcato
Urbania takes a new step in its international expansion plan with the opening of headquarters in Portugal. The new office, located in the financial heart of Lisbon, responds to the organic growth of the company in the Iberian market.
The Lisbon headquarters joins the international network of Urbania offices - made up of more than 175 professionals - and with a presence in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Ibiza and Fortaleza (Brazil).
Nuno Torcato will be the director of Urbania in Portugal. He holds an international MBA from IE Business School and is a specialist in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management (Cornell SC Johnson College of Business). During his long professional career, Nuno has held positions of responsibility in large companies in Spain, Angola and Portugal, such as KPMG, Banco Finantia, Banif Investment Bank, PwC or Grupo Pestana, the largest Portuguese hotel chain.
Jeffrey Sújar, Managing Partner of Activos Alternativos at Urbania stated that «The opening in Lisbon marks a new stage within the expansion plan of our company. An ‘expected’ and ‘natural’ step, but of great relevance for the future of our brand. Portugal is, today, a strategic market for the growth of our firm in the Iberian market, in key sectors for our business, such as the development and management of large land, student residence projects and the 'build to rent '. We began this exciting journey with Nuno Torcato, a professional with a successful career in Portuguese real estate, who knows the local market in depth and who - we are convinced - will lead, with success, the Urbania team in Portugal ».
Urbania is immersed in the development and promotion of new projects in Spain and Portugal, focused both on residential for students (with a pipeline of 2,000 beds under development), as well as coliving, coworking, residential for seniors and build to rent assets.
