The young company – which has 17 coworking spaces in Germany spread throughout cities such as Berlin and Munich – will start this new journey with its Unicorn Liberdade unit, which as the name indicates, is located at Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade, in the Condes Cinema building. This 500 sqm coworking centre should host different work spaces and accommodate 100 people, according to the press release newspaper Negócios had access to.
The other coworking space is Unicorn Marquês, which is located at Filipe Folque street next to Marquês de Pombal. This flexible work unit has 1.100 sqm spread across two floors and it will have 8 offices, meeting rooms, open-spaces and 140 work desks.
Lisbon was chosen by the German company, because it has room to grow, since the amount of coworking spaces in the Portuguese capital is less than 1%, while in the European capitals that number reaches 2%, mentions the company in the same document referencing the latest data from consultant Cushman&Wakefield.
Another determining factor for this choice was the growing demand for this type of spaces. «We are very happy with the launch of Unicorn in Lisbon, as a response to the local rapid increase in demand for shared offices. We offer something that no other space in Lisbon currently offers: a high quality and easily accessible shared workspace with a premium service », comments Masoud Kamali, founder of Unicorn, in the same release.
