The growth of the sales and transactions will depend on the high extent of the drive given by the banking to the grant of mortgage credits”, stated Professor Gonzalo Bernardos in the presentation of “Informe de Mercado Inmobiliario 2017, Actualidad y Perspectivas” (Report of real estate market 2017, Present situation and prospects), performed by real estate consultant Forcadell, in collaboration with Universitat de Barcelona (UB).
In conclusion on the residential market evolution in Spains, Bernardos believes that “the market upturn is generalized. House prices will rise by around 8% in 2017 if the net credit available to purchase a home does not increase, and will soar by around 13%, if lending rises by 5%”.
