This price increase for the rented house, above 8 €/m2 a month, brings us back to 2011 prices. In the last six months, the rental price in Spain has not reached this total.
However, the most remarkable figure for April is the annual price difference, up some 10.2%, the highest recorded in the past 10 years on the records of fotocasa’s real estate indexes.
“The increase in rental is generalised throughout the country but the strong increases recorded are especially in Cataluña and Madrid, which, according to our report “Radiografía del mercado de la vivienda 2016-2017” (Study of the Housing Market 2016-2017), concentrate 43% of activity related to demand in this market. These are followed by large tourist areas such as the Balearics, the Canaries and the Community of Valencia,” Beatriz Toribio, in charge of studios at fotocasa.
