These correspond to the period of consolidation of the Barcelona office market, according to a report prepared by the research department of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
The good performance of the demand listed between January and March 2018 reflects that the occupational market remains dynamic. During the first three months of the year, were signed a total of 84 new contracts, a number lower than the quarterly average of operations signed in the last three years, amounting to 93, although with a larger surface area, thanks to the extensions and creations of new companies. Regarding the demands of greater surface, the lack of available spaces in the CBD zone has moved many companies to areas far from the urban core.
The three largest areas of the quarter were located in the Decentralized and Periphery areas, precisely in the multifunctional complex BCN Fira District (6.467m²), Prat de Llobregat (5,000m²) and Cornellá (4,863m²).
