The number represents a quarterly variation of 0,1% and a yoy variation of 3,2%, according to the stats concerning the taxes over housing compiled by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. It is the 14th consecutive quarter with yoy price growth.
The free market prices discounting inflation had an increase of 1,0%.
By autonomous communities, it emerges that 11 of them presented yoy growth, with Madrid (8,3%), La Rioja (6,0%), Ballearic Islands (5,2%), Catalonia (4,8%), Canaries (4,7%) and Andalusia (3,7%) standing out. On the other hand 7 regions, show yoy decreases, mainly, Cantabria (-2,7%), Galicia (-1,7%), Basque country (-1,2%) and Asturias (-0,9%).
According to the historical data of these stats, the average value per square metre in the third quarter of 2018, is 24.4% lower than the highest level reached in the first quarter of 2008. Since the lowest value reached in the third quarter of 2014, prices have recovered 9,2%.
