The acquisition of houses by foreigners reaches an historic high in 2017

<p>The acquisition of houses by foreigners, in 2016, translated into 13.2% of the total of units sold in Spain, the highest register of the last decade, and everything points to the fact this percentage will be surpassed in 2017, reaching its historic record by the end of the year, according to last <em>Informe del Mercado Residencial</em> prepared by JLL.</p>

Moreover, it would be the eighth consecutive year of growth, in the rank of foreigner buyer in Spain.

Regarding the nationality of the buyer, from the 53,500 houses acquired by foreigners in 2016, the British are in the top of the ranking, representing 19% of the transactions. Followed by French (8%), German (7,6%), Swedish (6,7%), Belgian (6%) and Italian (5,4%).
