With a capacity for 330 students, TSL Collegiate Marquês de Pombal is located in the centre of Lisbon and opened in January this year after the rehabilitation of the building where it is installed.
The award rewards modern student residencies, highlighting, new intelligent ways of constructing and buildings’ sustainability, besides social sustainability amongst users.
Erica Sjölin, member of the jury and responsible for services and relations with users at Studentbostadtsföretagen, comments in a release that «at TSL Marquês de Pombal the project development/design teams are commited to the process of co-creation by inhabiting the residencies. This posture, along with surveys and other means of gathering feed-back, generate a good working basis for user focused design and sustainability. Additionally, they have a transparent relation with the users and promote social solidarity between the institution and its neighbours».
Jonathan Holloway, project development manager at Temprano Capital Partners, states: «We are very happy and proud of the recognition receiving this award provides, especially since TSL Marquês de Pombal is Temprano’s first student residence».
