The Pozuelo municipality has greenlighted what will become one of the largest student residences in the Community of Madrid: 30.000 sqm and 600 beds. This is Dutch company Student Experience’s first project in Spain, according to El Confidencial.
The future residence will be located in Pozuelo de Alarcón, in Madrid. The terrains belonged to Hacienda, which held in 2017 an auction for its alienation. That auction received no bids and two years later, in March 2019 through direct sale, the transaction was concluded of 11 million euro, the buyer was Student Experience.
Student Experience, whose implementation in Spain is being led by its CEO, Johan Werweij, has several student residences in its home country, Holland. Following several years preparing setting the ground to expand its activity in Europe, Spain was the country and Madrid was the city chosen to start its first incursion.
The complex will have 600 independent apartments for students, start-up rooms for entrepreneuring students, commercial areas, a congress centre and auditorium, besides many other amenities such as padel courts and covered on the roof.
It will be one of the largest private student residences in Spain. It is, in fact, amongst the five largest projects in the country, only surpassed by the 1.000 spots offered by entrepreneur Javier Cabotá’s project in Mallorca, the 800 beds from Grupo Moraval in Seville or the 765 accommodation spots within University residence Erasmo de Resa, in Madrid, whereas in terms of the public segment, the largest student residence in the Community of Madrid is the University of Alcalá’s Campus Village, with 650 spots.
The construction of the new student residence at avenue de Rodajos, in Pozuelo de Alarcón, from Student Experience will start by the end of May.
