The Swiss management company has been operating in the country with its housing investment vehicle Stoneweg Living. But the pandemic showed it the potential of the logistic segment in the near future. «The consolidation of e-commerce amongst a large portion of the population makes us predict that increasingly more companies will choose to set their logistic spaces near cities so as to meet this demand and improve last-mile delivery times», explained the company in a release to which El Español had access.
It was with this strategic vision that Stoneweg moved ahead with the purchase of a set of buildings located in a 220.000 sqm terrain, on which the company intends to build «a state of art, modern logistic complex with around 115.000 sqm» which is located on a strategic spot in terms of mobility, revealed the document.
For this process, the Swiss management company should have the support of Area Industrial which also intends to include «sustainability criteria fit for the current needs and demands, thus achieving a cutting-edge development towards reducing environmental impact».
Up until now, Stoneweg has been presenting several projects across the country, but within the housing segment. The Skyline in Madrid is one of them, for which it should pay 200 million euro to management company M&G.
