Real estate fund management company Stoneshield Capital acquired the Ruescampus Sevilla student residence, which is connected to the University of Seville. The operation was advised by CBRE.
The transaction was made through the sale of 100% of Ruescampus Sevilla society’s shares, whose activity consisted of exploring, through a license, the Residencia Universitaria Rector Estanislao del Campo (Dean Estanislao del Campo Student Residence), the University of Seville’s official student residence, to management company Stoneshield, which carried out the operation through its specialised operator Micampus Living.
«This operation positions us as a reference for the segment in Andalusia, since it joins our two other operational student residences in Seville (MiCampus Celestino Mutis and MiCampus Bormujos) and our other operational residence in Malaga (MiCampus Malaga) and places us as one of the larger operators in Spain», remarked Sebastián Oviedo, managing director at Micampus Living.
300 million to invest
Stoneshield was established at the beginning of 2018 by Juan Pepa and Felipe Morenés, former directors at Lone Star. The company has 300 million euro available to invest and amongst its investors is American billionaire Warren Buffet.
Micampus Living manages the thirteen student residences and two student complexes Stoneshield has in its portfolio. The assets are located in Aranjuez, Bilbao, Burgos, Cartagena, Logroño, Malaga, Oviedo, Pamplona, Santander, Seville and Valencia.
At the beginning of the year, the company purchased the Galileo Galilei student residence in Valencia. The building, located within Valencia’s Polytechnical University’ campus, has 32 beds spread across 403 rooms, of which 106 are individual. The building is also used as a youth hostel.
