The year began with a record quarter, reaching operations worth 307.1 million euros, compared to 79.8 million registered in the same period of 2019. From January to March, the Socimis carried out twelve operations, half of those that were carried out until the end of the year. The largest operation of a Socimi in 2020 was Inbest's purchase of the commercial space of the Edificio España in Madrid for 160 million euros, closed in January.
In second position is the purchase of various residential buildings by Témpore closed in March, which reached 40.8 million euros. The assets acquired by the company were located in Castellón, Alzamora (Valencia), Villareal, Madrid and Leganés. The operation was closed in March.
During the second quarter of the year, the one most affected by the pandemic, the alternative stock market registered four operations, all of them in June, with the beginning of the new normality. In total, from April to June 2020, 11.7 million euros were transacted, 90.2% less than in the same period in 2019, when they registered a volume of operations of 118.9 million euros.
According to the transactions notified to BME Growth, in the third quarter of the year, the market only registered one operation by a Socimi, which meant a 98% drop in investment volume.
In the last quarter of the year, operations were reactivated, although without reaching the levels registered at the beginning of the year. In total, in the last three months of 2020 there were seven operations. The largest operation was carried out by Vivenio, who acquired a residential land in Madrid in December for fifty million euros.
