The Santa Apolónia Smart Studios will be the result of converting Fergráfica’s former industrial building (under a concession regime). Gabriel Couto will be in charge of the construction works as per the project from architecture office Pereira Miguel Arquitetos.
The project will have a total 4.287 sqm spread across 114 studios on 5 floors with different typologies, all will include one bedroom, private bathroom, kitchenette, secretary and dinner table. The leisure areas will be spread across several floors, external areas and library and a coworking space will also be included.
The studios are destined to long term rental, for dislocated students and young professionals who are just starting their careers, with the project being focused on the well-being of its users, mixing cultures and sharing experiences.
Smart Studios currently has 6 buildings operating in Lisbon and Coimbra. The company plans to add a further 1.500 new apartments until 2021 and it intends to have a total 2.700 units until 2023, with an expected investment of 100 million euro.
