The brand launched in 2016 currently has 620 Smart Studios operating and a further 880 projected, namely a complex at Ajuda, which will be operational in September with 73 units available.
Recently, the rehabilitation of the Fergráfica’s old building kicked off, where 114 Smart Studios will be built in March, next year. And next to Universidade Nova, in Carcavelos (Lisbon), 301 studios and apartments are being built, the company’s largest project so far, expected to open in May 2020.
Until 2023, Smart Studios intends to reach 2.700 units, in a 125 million euro investment and in order to achieve it, it recently acquired two plots of land at Alta de Lisboa (uptown Lisbon) where it will build around 535 units and a terrain in Porto where it intends to build 230 Smart Studios.
Co-living is the new bet
In tandem with this portfolio’s expansion, Smart Studios wants to enter the co-living market and is «introducing a series of services and partnerships which will allow tenants to enjoy a high quality of living», it can be read in a release. It assumes this concept as a «concept for the future».
