The municipality of Seville has programmed for today the adjudication of Gavidia’s former police station. The building will be converted into a five star hotel, with room for coworking and a museum space reserved for the historical memory.
The adjudicating company, in this case Baraka Holding 2020, will pay the municipality 8.750.000 euro plus VAT (an amount slightly higher than that of the bid).
The company from entrepreneur Trinitario Casanova estimates to invest 9.6 million euro in refurbishing the building, not including VAT nor complementary interventions to fit the building for different uses. In total, the project surpasses 20 million euro.
Mixed use
The project includes a mixed use for the building, a 5 star hotel with 105 rooms and a recreational area on the ground floor for the use and enjoyment of the general public. It will be a free area with a separate access which will feature a restaurant, a coworking space with direct street access and a museum space for historic memory.
It is also included in the project, the redevelopment of the surrounding areas, following the technical criteria established by the Urban and Environmental Management for the area limited by streets San Juan de Ávila and part of Virgen de los Buenos Libros and, Plaza de la Concordia. The project already has the positive reports from the Urban and Environmental Management and the Local Heritage Committee.
