The aim of Rhenus is to use the asset to serve one of its major European accounts within the retail world and several customers related to the world of cold food distribution, for which VGP will take the original project of the warehouse and adapt it to the particular needs of both projects.
The logistics park of VGP is located in the so-called Corredor de Henares that is part of the first logistics ring around Madrid and which is experiencing considerable growth at the moment.
The park will have more than 135,000 m2 built and suitable for industrial and logistical use in an area with 225,000 m2 of land. Some of the companies that have already chosen to establish themselves in the new industrial developments of San Fernando, adjacent to the new VGP Park, are Amazon, TNT and XPO Logistics.
With this operation, VGP completes the first risk release of a 22,750 m2 logistics platform without having completed its construction. The next step in 2018 will be the speculative promotion of a large 40,000 m2 platform.
In the words of Pere Morcillo, director of the Industrial and Logistics area at JLL, "Rhenus' commitment to VGP Park in San Fernando de Henares confirms that the demand values this type of projects, with an extraordinary location on the A-2 and an excellent constructive quality of the buildings ".
