These are some of the main conclusions of the report "Barcelona from the sky" that CBRE publishes for the second consecutive year.
Thus, Barcelona continues to register a large construction activity, with 121 active cranes populating the city's sky in 272 projects, compared to 104 registered the previous year, which means an increase of 16% in the number of cranes in Barcelona.
Specifically in the residential sector, the construction activity has increased considerably from 133 projects in 2017 to 220 this year, which represents an increase of 65% over the previous year. According to Lola Martínez Brioso, Director of Research at CBRE, "L'Eixample is the area with the highest number of residential projects, whilst it’s the one that has increased the most regarding to 2017, going from 23 projects in 2017 to 44 this year".
The 22 @, within the Sant Martí district, is the area with the greatest activity, followed by the Sants-Montjuïc district. In addition, it is the largest available surface with a total of 38,000 m² (61% of the total available).
