Renta Corporación concluded the construction of the building located at Barcelona’s 22@ district. This was its first full key-in-hand office building construction project and it was delivered to Ocado Technology. With more than 11 million euro invested, this operation reinforced the real estate company’s strategic plan, focusing on larger operations.
The building, with more than 2.343 sqm, obtained a LEED Gold certification, which recognises it complies with the highest sustainability standards. This certification, awarded by the US Green Building Council, represents energy savings, less maintenance costs and a higher market value.
The office project, which includes 379 sqm in terraces, will host, during the first quarter of 2021, the new Ocado Technology tech park, the company’s tech division. The area where it is located hosts other companies such as Facebook, Amazon and HP.
The new office will allow the company to increase its activity and number of workers in Spain, with its staff expected to increase from 100 to 250 by the inauguration of its new headquarters.
