The aim of the reform promoted is to improve the user experience outside the shopping resort. The center has outdoor areas of more than 32,000 sqm.
«In 2022 the center will be 10 years old and it is time to adapt new strategies and continue to innovate. The success of Puerto Venecia lies in the leading business model. It combines the largest selection of brands and establishments, with a diverse gastronomic offer and a differentiating leisure experience, all in a unique environment », highlights Yolanda Gimeno, manager of Puerto Venecia.
The project will start this week with the help of the local company Sinergia, the result of the center's commitment to the regional economy. It will have a first phase of work on the canal area, where action will be taken not only on the terraces, but also on the whole, including a significant improvement of the stairs connecting with the boulevard.
The operation will last four months, in which the activity of the building will continue to be active. In the start of the works, more than 2.5 million euros will be invested. The objective of this remodeling is twofold. On the one hand, it is intended to extend the period of use of the terraces in a more efficient and safe way. On the other, the goal is to improve the visitor's experience with greater comfort and friendliness of the environment.
The forecast is to undertake the complete project before the end of 2022. «This is an important project that has been working for a long time and that the current property of Puerto Venecia always took into account from the moment of purchase, even before the COVID- 19 », indicates the manager.
In addition, this project takes sustainability into account. In this sense, it has opted for materials with environmental certification and energy efficiency. After the terrace renovation phase, it will be the turn of other exterior areas of the center, such as the lake or the west entrance located between Decathlon and Primark.
Finally, a third phase of renovation of the rest areas inside the gallery is planned, currently withdrawn due to restrictions and which will be undertaken when the health situation allows it.
