This project in particular will be the biggest key-in-hand development up to now in Cataluña and the first development by Prologis in the logistics market in Barcelona since 2009.
The remaining 26,500 square metres will be risk development and is predicted to be completed together with the first phase of the building for Logters in the third term of 2017. The second phase of the key-in-hand building will be ready in the third trimester of 2018.
Both properties are part of the expansion of Prologis Park Penedès, a logistics park situated in the heart of the Penedès region, near Barcelona, one of the most important logistics corridors in Spain. In which Prolongis currently manages more than 180,000 square metres of real estate assets divided between Prologis Park La Granada, Subirats and the actual DC1 in Penedés.
This new project for Prologis will be developed on a parcel of land 126.000 square metres in area, situated on the AP2 motorway connecting Barcelona and Madrid, very near to the intersection with the AP7 to Valencia.
The buildings have ample space for the manoeuvre of lorries and LED floodlights, saving approximately 40% on the electric consumption of the companies therein, and the most efficient fire extinguishing equipment for this type of property, among other advantages.
“This new development which we will soon be initiating will offer its users a competitive process, excellent connections to Barcelona and the rest of the Iberian peninsular and near important ports such as the Puerto de Barcelona and Tarragona. This, added to the availability of labour in the zone and the high quality and functionality of the buildings, will guarantee the success of firms who establish themselves here”, comments Gustavo Cardozo, Senior Vice President of Prologis Iberia.
Prologis is the most highly regarded provider in the real estate logistics sector in Spain, with a presence in the main logistics markets, and currently with more than 800,000 square metres in property and management on 31st December 2016.
