The B&B Hotels hotel group has started to operate the Hotel The Site Sant Cugat. The establishment will be renamed B&B Hotel Barcelona Sant Cugat, and is located in Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona).
The new B&B Hotel Barcelona Sant Cugat has four stars and is located just five minutes from the Sant Cugat High Performance Training Center, 15 minutes from the center of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and 30 minutes from the Airport El Prat de Barcelona.
The operation has been advised by Cushman & Wakefield, and has been structured with an international real estate investment fund, Primonial REIM. This fund has acquired the property of the hotel and will allow B&B HOTELS to operate it on a guaranteed rental basis for at least 15 years.
The accommodation has 96 100% 'plastic free' single, double and family rooms. All of them are spacious, functional, bright and carefully designed. In addition, all guests will enjoy a buffet breakfast, free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building, free coffee and hot drinks, a 24-hour reception, numerous meeting rooms and 114 parking spaces (four of which are reserved for the disabled) with 12 Tesla superchargers for electric cars.
According to Lucía Méndez-Bonito, CEO of B&B Hotels in Spain and Portugal: «Despite the crisis that arose after Covid-19, at B&B Hotels we continue with our strong growth in Spain and Portugal. Two key markets for the B&B HOTELS Group's development in our ambition to remain the undisputed leader in budget hotels. To do this, this year we will continue to strengthen large squares such as Madrid and Barcelona, in addition to opening new ones such as we recently did in Murcia. We currently have a large number of ongoing projects and we continue to look for opportunities to continue our sustained growth in the Iberian Peninsula with the aim of expanding our network ».
For Albert Grau, partner and co-director of Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality in Spain, «the operation demonstrates the interest of investment funds in the Spanish market based on future profitability and the characteristics of the hotel asset. The case of Sant Cugat is a good example, due to its proximity to Barcelona and various logistics and business centers ».
