The project is at the preliminary study stage. It is located in an area qualified as sensitive and outside the areas considered as urban according to Cascais PDM (Municipal Urban Plan). The environmental impact assessment will be under public consultation until the 13th of July.
This new development will be constituted by studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, besides double rooms and some suites, which can be connected to the apartments. All units will offer balconies or ground terraces. The construction of two pools is also planned, besides a gym, spa, leisure areas, restaurants and bars. Parking for vehicles and bicycles will feature 131 parking spots, outdoor and underground.
The total construction area is around 27.000 sqm. The construction works are expected to be finished within 26 months.
In the document made available at the website Participa, it is estimated that this project will create 200 new permanent jobs and 350 jobs during peak season.
Penha Longa Resort currently has a total 194 bedrooms, restaurants, golf courses and spa. At the end of 2018, it was acquired by group Carlyle and Explorer Investments. It is managed by Ritz-Carlton, a brand from the Marriott group.
