From 19 to 20 September, the eyes will be on the investment in Portugal. Two days that’ll focus in subjects such as the main strengths in Lisbon as a real estate investment destination, in the Iberian context, in the development of a REIT regime in the country, or in the trend of the funding opening to this market.
This event, organized by Iberian Property, aims to be a contribution to put Lisbon on the real estate investment map, as a foreign capital destination. Will attend investors of the major European and North-American investment houses, which number may reach the two hundred, considering the last edition success and the increasing dynamic among the national property investment market, which this year could go, once more, to record numbers.
António Gil Machado, organizing the event, explains that «the biggest investors of private equity in the world, investment Banks and institutional investors were present in 2016, including entities already revealed to the Portuguese market, and others who saw the event as a unique opportunity to learn more about the market and its players». He adds that «we had more than 300 participants, of which nearly half were foreign investors, and this year we have reasons to believe that this number will increase, alongside with the own diversification of the investors’ origins for the first time in the national market, like the case of the capital of South Africa».
An economic environment, presented by Professor João Duque, will set the start of the event, in the company of Thomsom Reuters and Portugal In representatives in the debate. As for central sessions, will participate entities as Varde Partners, Deutsche Asset Management and CBRE Global Investors, on the panel about attractiveness and opportunities in Lisbon; Nomura, ING Banking and Santander Global Banking will be on financing; and EPRA, APFIPP and EURONEXT on the debate about the development of a REITs regime in Portugal.
The program also includes sessions about “How and Where to Invest”, focused in topics such as existing investment vehicles, tax optimization for property investment in Portugal, or the acquisition opportunity of NPLs and REOs.
This event gathers a wide range of supports from the real estate industry. The confirmed sponsors are: Abreu Advogados, Aguirre Newman, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Deloitte, JLL and the law firm Morais Leitão Galvão Teles e Soares da Silva, in addition to the Grupo SIL.
