This is a project that was conceived a long time ago, but it was only greenlighted last week by «El Prat de Llobregat’s city council, which initially approved the changes on the Plan General Metropolitano (General Metropolitan Plan) – PGM for the Estación-Seda-Papelera», revealed the company in a release issued this Tuesday.
The project, which will be developed in a 37-hectare terrain purchased in 2017, should include 4.600 new dwellings, with 40% of them under affordable housing, and commercial areas, such as offices, shops and hotels.
On the urban development alone, Metrovacesa should spend around 40 million euro – out of a total investment of 120 million euro – and it will invest a further 150 million on developing the project.
«It is expected for the urban changes approved for the PGM and for the Planes de Mejora Urbana (Urban Improvement Plans) which will specify the final order of the changes to be completed before the end of 2021, with the possibility of starting the urban development works throughout 2022», mentioned the same note.
