According to sources close to the company, quoted by VozPópuli, the socimi wants to have in Portugal about 140,000 m², close to half of the square meters that it has in Barcelona, becoming thus the leader in the Portuguese market.
Its last acquisition in Portugal was Zen Tower, in Parque das Nações, a 13-storey building that it bought for about €33.3 million.
The total value of Merlin's assets surpasses €6,000 million. It owns assets such as Torre Sacyr in Madrid, or Torre Gòries in Barcelona. Its main shareholder is Santander, with 22.2% of the capital.
