Monumental office building, Lisbon
The 20 assets which were certified have total combined GLA of 250.000 sqm, around 20% of Merlin’s entire office portfolio and symbolise the recognition, from WiredScore, of the REITs leadership in terms of technology within the real estate sector. This recognition is given by an organisation with great international prestige, especially amongst Anglo-Saxon countries and which has given its quality seal to such iconic buildings as the Empire State Building. Its pioneer alliance with Merlin started in 2019, when both companies started collaborating through a pilot-project which has now become a reality.
WiredScore measures the level of digital connectivity in buildings, making sure they have the best infrastructure for companies and people, and showed that Merlin’s office buildings have the digital infrastructure companies currently need. Merlin continues working with WiredScore to keep certifying more buildings from its portfolio.
In Madrid, Merlin’s buildings which obtained this certificate are located at Campus Adequa, Aquamarina, Torre Chamartín, Parque Empresarial Cerro de los Gamos, Arturo Soria 343, Castellana 85, Ática and Plaza Ruiz Picasso. In Barcelona, they are located at Diagonal 605 and Torre Glòries; and in Lisbon, the Monumental building.
WiredScore has also recently launched the SamrtScore certification, which was designed for smart buildings, it identifies which qualities and tools constitute a smart building and classifies its capacities as one. Merlin Properties Plaza Ruiz Picasso building was the first in Spain to obtain this certification.
